Abstract

Due to increase in the multimedia applications and streaming servers, transport of MPEG compressed video data through a packet switched network has become highly important. It is necessary to transport the video while ensuring appropriate video quality at the receiving end. This paper proposes a new N2N packet forwarding technique that reduces the packet loss and delay jitter of the video traffic. The paper also shows that with the use of the proposed packet forwarding technique, the PSNR is also improved.
