Abstract

Person re-identification is gaining significance in today's world. In this paper, we present a novel method for re-identifying persons in surveillance videos. We propose a new color based image descriptor which is used to extract the local interest points by subdividing the pedestrian image into upper and lower parts. The descriptor is experimentally evaluated on two benchmark datasets.
