Abstract

Early childhood and early elementary education establish the critical foundation for cognitive development, linguistic fluency, social interaction, and emotional self-regulation. While traditional educational paradigms relied heavily on play-based exploration, concrete tactile artifacts, and caregiver scaffolding, the rapid emergence of advanced digital technologies—specifically Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Immersive Virtual Reality (VR)—is radically reconfiguring pedagogical possibilities. This paper presents a comprehensive, integrated pedagogical framework tailored for early school education (Classes 4–7). This study examines the theoretical alignment of XR-AI environments with Piagetian constructivism, embodied cognition, and Vygotskian socio-cultural theory. To synthesize empirical evidence regarding cognitive retention, motor development, and social-emotional learning, while addressing critical pediatric physical constraints including interpupillary distance (IPD) thresholds and visual-vestibular strain. Finally, propose a five-layered architecture—spanning pedagogical foundations, sensory interfaces, generative intelligence, human-in-the-loop governance, and multi-modal assessment loops—providing a robust blueprint for safe, effective, and ethically grounded deployment.
