Abstract

This paper reviews the significance of e-Governance in Aviation Industry in general and the Indian scenario in particular. Primarily, this discusses about the features of e-Governance and the growth that lay ahead through the electronic media. It also analyses the various stages of development – in Public as well as Private sector – and, at the end, gives a laconic comparative study. The age-old impression that the private sector airlines are far better than the public sector airlines is slowly changing – thanks to the improvement of services to a remarkable level. One of the findings is that a seasoned traveller will undoubtedly look as services such as the tele-check-in and/or web check-in which make the traveller more comfortable. The very reason for the successful operation of many private sector airlines is that the services – both on board and on ground – are indeed competitive and well-appreciated. This means, both sectors have to learn from each other to improvise the services.
