Abstract

This paper presents a extended approach to rz line coded signal estimation accuracy by improving the kalman filtration technique for optical fiber communication. The rz signal estimation with comparison to existing threshold approach and adaptive based approach were observed and an modified adaptive filter approach is proposed to further improve the estimation approach. Simulation results were observed at different noise level and are compared with the previous approach. Return-to-Zero(RZ) modulation format has become a popular solution because it has a higher peak power, a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and lower bit error and reduce the dispersion.
