Abstract

The ICT sector has grown exponentially in the last two decades, transforming society and economy. The emission of carbon levels to the environment has also widely increased with the expansion of ICT sector. Cloud computing is a new model for providing business and IT services. The cost advantages of cloud computing have enabled new software vendors to create productivity application that they can make available to people at a much smaller cost than would be possible to shrink-wrapped software. This essay gives an overview of the importance of cloud computing in creating a sustainable green ICT infrastructure.
